I build software for one of Indian healthcare's oldest problems: the doctor treating a patient almost never has that patient's medical history.

My main project is 1Heath. It listens to a consultation in English or any of 22 Indian languages, including the mixes doctors actually speak, such as Telugu or Hindi with English. It writes the note and prescription, checks every line for safety, and lets the doctor sign with one slide.

1Heath: The Visit Writes the History

A medical scribe and shared record for India's small clinics, built for every system of medicine.

  • Listens in English and 22 Indian languages, including mixed speech, and writes the note and prescription; tested so far on simulated consultations in eight languages.
  • A language model drafts; a rules engine verifies every line against what was said.
  • On unseen simulated tests, no invented allergy, refused medicine or wrong dose reached a note unflagged.
  • Four apps on one record: Doctor (working demo), Desk, Pharmacy and Patient (designed).

SpeechMatchingPart of 1Heath

Medicine Names from Indian Speech

A matcher that turns spoken brand names into catalogue entries without ever guessing.

  • A name is accepted only when it matches in both spelling and sound and clearly beats the next candidate.
  • About 500 common brands, with spoken forms in English, Hindi and Telugu and 4,649 spellings in five Indian scripts.
  • 54 of 85 spoken lines correct with zero invented medicines, where brand hints to the speech model invented drugs.
Prototype3DMedical Imaging

CT and MRI 3D Viewer

Turns a CT or MRI series into a 3D model a doctor can rotate and peel layer by layer, so patients can understand their own scans.

  • Keeps three things visibly apart: what was reconstructed, what a radiologist verified, and what is illustration.
  • A research prototype, not a medical device.

Why This Problem

Years ago I was given a medicine that harmed me. I still do not know what it was, so no doctor can make sure it never happens again. My grandmother takes Ayurvedic medicines, and none of her doctors know.

A primary-care visit in India lasts about two minutes, and about half of Indians used Ayurveda, homeopathy or another traditional system in the past year. No doctor can take a full history in two minutes. I think no doctor should have to treat a patient blind.

How I Work

  • 1

Research, then specify, then build. No code until the behaviour is written down.

  • 2

Measure before deciding. Design choices are settled on the same test cases, not by opinion.

  • 3

Done means tested on the device. Passing tests on a laptop is necessary, never enough.

  • 4

Never invent clinical information. If the system is unsure, the doctor sees a choice, not a guess.

Contact

I would like to hear from doctors, pharmacists, people working on Indian-language speech or clinical safety, and anyone harmed by a missing medical history.
